2012 Chevrolet Cruze Station Wagon First Debut at Geneva Motor Show

Car Auto Online - 2012 Chevrolet Cruze Station Wagon First Debut at Geneva Motor Show - General Motors comes to 2012 Geneva Motor Show with one new car model, two concept cars, and new car infotainment technology. The International Geneva Motor Show will take place from March 8 to 18, 2012.

At the Geneva Motor Show, Chevrolet introduces their flagship model, the Chevrolet Cruze Station Wagon, as its 2012 world debut. The Cruze Station Wagon is complementing the Cruze sedan variant that has been launched earlier.

According to General Motors Indonesia press release (2/28/12), the Cruze Wagon will go on sale this summer. Features offered by the Cruze Wagon include keyless entry and start, rear camera, Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system, and start-stop functionality.

There are three new engines variants offered, the 1.4L turbo gasoline, a new 1.7L diesel and an updated 2.0L diesel. While two other engine variants are still retained, 1.6L and 1.8L gasoline.

At the 82nd Geneva Motor Show, Chevrolet also display two concept cars - Chevrolet Code 130R and Chevrolet Tru 140S – which born from Chevrolet’s interactive program involving young people in designing future cars.

Chevrolet Code 130R turbocharged is a four-seat coupe with rear-wheel-drive. While Tru 140S is a four-seat sports coupe that uses front-wheel-drive technology. British car designers, Nicholas David and Joe Baker of GM North Hollywood Design Center plan will also come to the launching ceremony.

The latest car infotainment system is the Chevrolet MyLink that integrates with smartphone. The system is changing the car like a docking station. Chevrolet MyLink includes high resolution seven-inch screen, touch screen, which collect all driver’s smartphone contents to the screen via USB, Aux-in or Bluetooth.

Chevrolet said this technology will be available in variants of the Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Aveo in summer 2012.
