Car Auto Online - 10 Driving Skills For Life Tips from Ford - Ford Motor Indonesia (FMI) is back to organize a series of Driving Skills For Life (DSFL) training, which the previous DSFL program was officially launched last year on August 25, managed to certify more than 1,000 participants.
A global program run by Ford Motor Company was introduced in Indonesia with the support of the Department of Transportation and co-operation with the Asia Injury Prevention (AIP) Foundation and Indonesia Defensive Driving Center (IDDC).
- Always use a safety / seat belt at any time, even when your car is in a parked
- Adjust the rearview mirror to help increasing visibility, side and rear views
- Be a defensive driver, driving with a calm, always in alert and ready to face any situation.
- Keep away from distractions while driving, that can impair driving concentration, (ie: the use of mobile phones, watching TV and smoking)
- Keep a safe distance with other vehicles. Defensive driver is always to provide space around the vehicle. Do not get too close to the vehicle in front. The more space available, the more time available to react to avoid a collision or a bump
- Do a shift in an ideal RPM.
- Use the momentum of vehicle movement to reduce fuel consumption
- Turn off the engine when the vehicle is stopped (ie: when stopped for more than 10 seconds)
- Check and adjust tire pressure according to manufacturer's recommendations
- Reduce loads on the vehicle for fuel-efficient
