BMW 520d is the 5th engine variant of BMW 5-series of the BMW India. This all new BMW 520d comes with 1995cc 4-cylinder diesel engines. The transmission for 520d is standard with an eight-speed auto, generating max power of 184PS at 4000RPM and maximum torque 38.7 kgm at 1750u/min.

The major changes have been made so that this 5-series sedan a stylish appearance to the changes is the 255.55 R 17 tyres. The paddle shift mechanism that will not be present in the BMW 520d not like the other 5-series model.A single MP3-CD audio player is also the in-dash 6 CD-charger music system.Features that are retained are the cosmetic features like sun-roof and others that are available in other models in the 5-series. All new BMW 520d can be the corporate edition in the category 5-series, such as the BMW 320d company are recorded.

BMW India claims that 2012 BMW 520d has acceleration 100 km in 8.4 sec. The BMW 5 Series sedan saloon comes with 5 seater with a wheelbase of 2888mm and a 520litres volume of trunk. There are a variety of exciting features with this new model of the car as the halogen or Xenon headlights,navigation system and cruise control would come under the advanced features and support course standard security features that EBD,stability control,traction control,and brake will contain ABS.

Under the hood lurks a 4 cylinder 1995 cc diesel engine from the BMW 3 series. It makes 184 Bhp of peak power. However it wouldn’t have the same gear stock as the 3 series and would feature a more advanced 8 speed auto transmission albeit without the paddle shifters. The other visual differences would be the 255/55- R17 tyres.Interior equipment range has also taken a slight cut with the 6 CD changer been axed and a single CD player taking its place. BMW India have been kind to add aux input,USB and also an internet connectivity using Bluetooth.

The Price of the BMW 520d in India:

The on-road price of the BMW 520d in India is Rs 4,160,000 {Delhi}. This makes it cheaper by about Rs 2.4 lakhs than the previously cheap BMW 525d. Certainly a good choice offered at a good price.As per the ex-showroomDelhi costs the car at Rs.3.760.000 + insurance Rs.141.000 + road tax Rs.405.250 and on-road price 4.306.250 rupees, cheaper than the BMW 525d.

Earlier,we had reported about the launch of the 525d which was touted as the cheapest entry into the 5 series bastion. But as of now, the BMW 520d would be the cheapest. It is the 5th engine variant on sale for the BMW 5 series in India. First of all, there is nothing to distinguish it from its other costlier brethren, save for the grace of the 520d badge at the rear. Because of the increasing demands, BMW India plans to produce 520d in mass production scale.
