Car Auto Online - Lancia Delta - The Lancia, an Italian car manufacturer has produced Lancia Delta as a small vehicle for family uses. The first generation Lancia Delta was produced between 1979 -1994, which was five-door hatchback and designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro.

The 2nd generation Lancia Delta, the Nuova Delta and was launched between 1993 - 1999, which was the successor to the First Lancia Delta. The second generation Delta was especially marketed for customers interested in comfort & convenience more than overall performance & power.

The 3rd Generation Lancia Delta was produced for the first time in 2008. The third Delta was released for the first time in the 1979 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Lancia Delta is best known for its career in World Rally Championship between 1980s-1990s, when the Rally was dominated by its team. The Lancia provided versions of road-going vehicle of these competition cars — the Lancia Integrale and Delta HF 4WD.

The 2008 Lancia Delta was based on the Lancia Delta HPE (the pictures are shown below). 2008 Lancia Delta HPE was uncovered for the first time at the Paris Motor Show in 2007. Currently we welcome the 1st all-new car from Lancia's 2nd centenary, the Lancia Delta, with its design which is incontestably, the loyalty to innovative vocation of the brand. Due to the features of the product and the work on the international development supporting the launch planned for mid-2008, the Lancia Delta represented a turning point in history of the Lancia and encouraged significantly to a strategic plan development. The 2008 Lancia Delta passed the Euro NCAP car safety tests with ratings: 34, 33 and 15 for Adult occupant, Child occupant and Pedestrian Test.

The Delta or 'the first developmental shift' is the ability of the car to blending the Lancia's traditional elegance with original features of car's architecture that mate the spirit of a sportcar with the onboard well being of a sedan for the first time, and also providing category of super roominess car (a wheelbase of no less than 2.7 m adds to the car's underlining dimensions: It came with 4.5m in length, 1.8m wide and 1.5m in height). The Lancia Delta model range is most famous for the success it had in the World Rally Championship with the Lancia Delta Integrale.

For 2011 the Lancia Delta got some changes like new Chrysler derived 'family' grille, trim level changes and 105PS (77 kW; 104 hp)1.6 Multijet diesel engine for lower consumption and CO₂ figures.The new version of Lancia Delta was presented in The 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
